Tuesday, December 1st, 2009
6:30 – 8:30 PM
2 East 63rd Street
Joan Juliet Buck, American, French and English, is a novelist and performer who writes for Vogue about everything from TV to her family to chili peppers. Her interviews and essays have appeared in numerous publications in the U.S. and overseas, including Vanity Fair and The New Yorker.
Ms. Buck served as the movie critic at Vogue before a highly successful seven-year run as editor-in-chief of Paris Vogue. She combines writing with comedy, and plays Elizabeth Brassart, the head of the Cordon Bleu cooking school, in Nora Ephron’s “Julie & Julia”. She will be seen next year in Mariana Hellmund’s movie “The Aspern Papers”.
“I am honored to be asked to be part of the second annual Holiday House to benefit Susan G. Komen For The Cure,” says Joan Juliet Buck.
Ms. Buck will present a new monologue about French Table Manners for the Holiday House Gala, December 1, 2009.
The evening will be filled with music and merry-making. You will enjoy delicious food and an open bar, a harpist and a Jazz duo, a silent auction, and a jewelry bar by Judith Ripka. We recommend festive attire with a touch of pink.
